This exquisite table top icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe is in a private collection I was lucky enough to get to see recently. It is the work of Father Damien, heiromonk, a canonical priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the United States.
Another of his great works in New Mexico is the Last Supper, in the refectory of Christ in the Desert Monastery.
I love his work!

Father Bill is truly one of the great modern iconographers. He's a magical man, too. This is the original of this extraordinary work of his, called Mary Most Holy Mother of All Nations. It's a real treat to get to see it in a very special private collection. Thank you to Michael K. for allowing me the privilege!!
This night was the BEST night in Taos in a LONGGGGGG time. And more than a few people stated they were surprised it took 40 years to discover the awesomery of non-hangable art. I am so glad its there now! Thank you guys and KUDOS on a job well done! xoxoxox
donkey rides! I wanted one! NO grownups allowed. ; ( |

Wilson Alwyn "Snowflake" Bentley (1865 – 1931) was born in Jericho, Vermont. He is one of the first known photographers of the microscopic details of snowflakes.
He was incredibly attuned to this task, and spent years perfecting his art - he had precious few seconds to capture that snowflake - which was wholly individual and would never be repeated in nature - before it disappeared forever. His dedication to his purpose was incredible. As was the result. The lesson of snowflakes could be that each structure responds to an exact and specific set of criteria, and that those criteria, as minute as they might be, are always present and accounted for in the snowflake's structure.
What lesson is this to architecture? Could it be to make each space respond to its very unique environment, and therefore tell something of its story? Perhaps!
