A dream drive
through a blooming desert
after a summer of great monsoons
led us straight
to the closest place to home
for a southern girl
sometimes lost in the wilds of New Mexico.
Madrid,
home of mining shacks turned into art colonies
and some of the best southern food this side of the Mississippi.

Chicken and grits with a fried green tomato add at the Hollar. Life is good again.
Breakfast Quesadillas with Chorizo and goat cheese at the Hollar. My goddess.
